Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
No. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
How much bonus do you receive?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
$2,000 gets you $400.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
The field is hidden
When you're signing up. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click on that text. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
If you see an error, it's fine. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Tell them you want 128979 applied. Standard practice for them.
There's a catch with the bonus
You need to trade a certain volume.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units avatrade partner code to unlock a $200 bonus. Takes a while if you trade small. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. Only the bonus has the restriction.
One thing worth knowing: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
